Blue, White and Magenta Table Setting

joy of nesting

This is one of my favorite table settings. I did it for a fundraising luncheon for a group I used to belong to called Friends of CASA, or Court Appointed Service Advocates. Friends of CASA is a charitable group raising funds for the organization.

CASA’s are people who receive special training to be advocates for at risk kids who, through no fault of their own must go before a judge to have determined for them where they will end up living. CASA’s are often referred to as “the eyes and ears of the court” in that they make certain important details aren’t overlooked by the attorney’s representing the kids. They make sure the judge knows the personal ins and outs of the kids’ situations. They represent the personal side of the story.

The color combination blue, white and magenta makes a strong statement. I had my seamstress take these great magenta bed sheets and make a custom fitted round table cloth and eight matching napkins. The blue and white vase ended up in my master bedroom and the red goblets, the dining room.

Great pierced tin lanterns from Z Gallerie. The vases are lacquered bamboo.

Adorable crab napkin rings. Z Gallerie.

Squid and lobster napkin rings.

Giant, light weight Foo dogs and white lacquered bamboo vase.

Chair covers are barely visible. They are sheer white curtain panels purchased at Target and strategically tied over wood folding chairs with a magenta runner hanging over the back.

Table setting, as translated outdoors. Below, my sister Michelle and niece Ruby.
